About YES: The Youth Empowerment Summit (YES) Camp is a transformative, 3-day event dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders in the Greater Houston area. Through a series of collaborative workshops, inspiring talks, and civic engagement training, the camp aims to equip young individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to become active participants and leaders within their communities.
The YES Summit focuses on three main pillars:
- Community Building & Inspiring Change:
- Foster strong, lasting connections among young leaders across the Greater Houston area.
- Act as catalysts for positive change within their communities.
- Leadership Development:
- Develop essential leadership skills such as critical thinking and public speaking.
- Enhance participants’ abilities to lead effectively within their communities.
- Wellness Empowerment:
- Embrace the GRACE model to create a positive foundation for all actions.
- Identify and understand personal strengths and weaknesses, leading to deeper self-awareness.
Who Can Attend YES:
- Aspiring leaders aged 18 to 35 years old.
- Members of Houston youth organizations (VSAs, Church/Buddhist groups).
- Expected Attendance: 60-80 campers plus 20 staff members.
Your Youth Group Commitment:
- Send 6-10 dedicated members from your group to the summit, completely free of charge.
- Appoint a committed leader to coordinate with the YES Summit team and ensure active participation.
- Stay involved throughout the campaign, participating in all scheduled activities and initiatives.
- Receive a $1,000 stipend for your organization as a thank you for committing to these action items and contributing to our collective impact.
